Have you ever seen that movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? If not, there is something I would like to touch on that takes place in that movie, so watch it sometime. There are various times throughout the film that when someone gets injured or is in pain that a family member would say, "just put some Windex on it". I will explain why I mentioned this, so just keep it in mind.
Have you ever been in the presence of someone that has gotten a cut and they go to pull out the hydrogen peroxide? Or been in the presence of someone who has indigestion and they automatically pull out pepto-bismol from their medicine cabinet? I am sure we have all been around or even taken part in these activities at various points in our lives.
Now, with all the news stories that are published nowadays regarding health difficulties due to the use of various products, including the products we can often rely on day to day such as aspirin, wouldn't it be better if we found an alternative that was natural and safe? I can tell you of an herb that is multi-purpose. It aids indigestion and the healing of wounds among other things. This single herb can help with multiple issues, for instance, food cleansing, regulating metabolism, healing and disinfecting wounds among others. I am sure you have heard of a type of bacteria called salmonella. This bacterium attaches itself to food; when ingested it causes food poisoning which may cause severe stomach pain along with other symptoms. With the existence of bacteria, should you stop eating certain fruits or vegetables? No, instead try using Turmeric to cleanse the food you eat prior to cooking or eating it. Turmeric has antibacterial properties and when used with water as a wash it will help clear the food of any living bacteria that is present. It is simple; you already wash your food prior to eating it or cooking it anyways, so this time just add a little bit of turmeric to the water and rinse the food well. This additional step with the help of this herb will eliminate your chances of ingesting hazardous bacteria through your food.
Indigestion is also common issue people face on a consistent basis. Turmeric can help with indigestion as well as digestion of protein and regulating your metabolism. The best way to use turmeric for any stomach related issues is to take it with food. Add a little bit of turmeric to any dish you are cooking and it will help the digestion process as well as make your food a beautiful colour of yellow depending upon the amount used.
Now, if you remember at the beginning of the article, I touched on a moment from a movie where "Windex" was used for injuries, such as cuts. Even though this is a joke in the movie, whether real or not, we all turn to one item or another to help clean and heal the wounds we get. This could be through the use of something like hydrogen peroxide. Have you ever tried Turmeric for these problems? Turmeric, along with being antibacterial which was mentioned above, is also an anti-inflammatory and an anti-septic. Technical terms aside, it will clean, disinfect, reduce swelling, and will aid in the healing of wounds through protection against germs. Cuts can be treated with turmeric and they will be cleaned, disinfected and protected, thus helping the area to heal quickly. Bruises and burns can also be healed quickly with the use of Turmeric given its abilities to reduce inflammation and protect the area.
So, if something like Turmeric, a natural herb that has been around and used in medical practices for thousands of years, will help with all these issues, would you not use it? I would like to propose to you to try using Turmeric more often. It is easily found in powdered form and can be carried around in small containers like any other substance. The chance is here to use a natural herbal remedy, instead of a chemical based remedy. Try changing to herbal remedies instead of chemical remedies, you will find that you feel healthier and happier, and of course you now eliminate the risk of side effects that can be caused by many chemical based drugs. Do keep in mind that like all good things, it has to be used in moderation; nothing is good for your body in excess. For any herb that is ingested please begin with small quantities. I will continue to post new articles on herbs that will help improve your life and break reliance on drugs, so keep checking for updates. Have fun and stay healthy.
