Immunity: Spices That Boost It Up

Boosting your immunity and keeping it in good condition is essential, especially in a cold season, or if you suffer much stress in your daily life. To sustain your immune system it's enough to just eat the right food, which contains all the necessary elements and vitamins. There's no need to buy any special expensive pills, and there will be no need to spend a lot of money on medicines and doctors - if you consume immunity-boosting food, the risk of you falling ill will be much lower.


You can as well use immunity-boosting spices with your food. Not only will it bring variety into your meals and give you some new cooking ideas, but it will also enhance the effect of the healthy food, and will keep your immune system ever ready to fight off any unwanted guests.


Here are just a few spices that can boost your immunity.


1. Cinnamon


Its warm, flavorful taste and sweet aroma will turn your drink, fruit salad or bakery into a splendid treat. Cinnamon is a good antioxidant, it slows down the growth of bacteria and helps to reduce early symptoms of cold. You can use cinnamon in great variety of recipes, from cold milk shakes to tea and stews.


2. Coriander


Coriander is a good antiseptic, rich in vitamin C. This spice can power up your body defenses, making them fight off infections faster and more effectively; and it can also stimulate appetite, which is especially important if you're already sick. Coriander can be used in bakery, stews and soups.


3. Black pepper


This common inexpensive spice is also a good antioxidant, protecting the body cells from the damage caused by free radicals. Black pepper will make you sweat, thus removing toxins from your body, and it will also bring relief to your stuffy nose. This spice can be used in scads of dishes and drinks, including even those with chocolate.


4. Ginger


This is quite a valuable and healthy spice as well. It kills bacteria and cold viruses, reduces chills and fevers. Ginger also has an anti-inflammatory effect, so it can ease your throat pain if used in a hot drink. Apart from drinks it can be used in bakery, soups and with meat. Ginger often makes a fine couple with coriander as well.


5. Cumin


Cumin is rich in vitamins A and C, and produces a disinfecting effect. It helps fight viruses and can relieve your cough. Cumin is best used fresh for cooking meat, soups and pates, or it can be sprinkled over salads or bakery.


As you can see, your food, however healthy it may be, always can become even more healthy and delicious, if you use spices. Pick the ones that make your immune system stronger, mix them in different combinations and try new recipes - and your organism will successfully fight off infections or inhibit them and prevent them from spreading.
