Adult Acne Causes and Preventatives

Acne is not just a problem for adolescents. It has been known to affect individuals ranging from 10 to 40 years old. Women often experience acne in their mid and late 20s, even if they have not suffered from a break out for years. Although the majority of people grow out of their acne as they reach their twenties, some may still experience lingering acne for years afterwards.


Not all acne conditions are associated with puberty. Your diet, stress level, and hygiene all play major roles in maintaining healthy skin. If you are not taking good care of the inside of your body, the symptoms may show on the outside as well. Acne remedies are easy to follow, but the best cure is prevention.


Food - Nutrition experts often advise people to avoid fast foods, sweets, and other fat/sugar filled products. Not only will these foods affect your overall health, but they also play a key role in producing acne. Since they are filled with oil, all that excess junk will eventually surface through to your skin unless it is washed down properly. To truly avoid acne, refrain from unhealthy foods.


Hygiene - Although the dirt itself does not create acne, it can irritate the skin and cause an infection to develop. Sweat and dirt will also make your present acne condition worse if it gets into the sores and infects them.


Stress - A stressful lifestyle is a major cause of acne, but most people are not aware of this. To combat stress with acne remedies, make sure your body gets an appropriate amount of sleep and exercise every day. If you want to have healthy skin, you will need to maintain a healthy condition in all aspects of your life.
