Can Distilled Water Be Used?

Alkaline water's benefits have even been recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare and have been certified to assist in the alleviating acidosis, chronic diarrhea, gastrointestinal disorders, and poor digestion. Asian doctors use alkaline water to change the acidic condition in the body so that the body can better deal with weaknesses on its own.
Tap Water Better Than Nothing
Tap water ranges from slightly alkaline to acidic. This might be in many cases the least recommended. However, drinkable water is very important regardless of type. If tap is the only choice, better to hydrate with something that will assist than nothing at all. So a good start is to insure enough hydration and as able seek for higher qualitative hydration to optimize the body's abilities to purge itself of toxins. Fluoridated Water Not Good for Kidney Patients

In 2008, the USA National Kidney Foundation withdrew its support for the fluoridation of water while acknowledging kidney patients had died from fluoridated water used in dialysis.
