Healthy Organic Tea

Did you know that curry leaves can be easily made into a healthy drink? Did you know it's really good for your health? Did you also know that it helps illnesses such as diabetes? Curry leaves have excellent medicinal properties.

My Indian colleague suggested to add curry leaves to hot water and drink from it. I love tea but especially those with ingredients that are good for your health. Curry leaves are known to have medical properties to treat diabetes. Curry trees are easily grown and easy to maintain. At the seedling stage the curry trees need extra care and attention. They grow abundant leaves which you can use for your culinary purposes.

I haven't tried curry leaves with any other ingredients but kept this mixture very simple. You can easily grow a curry tree at home if you have space in your back yard. Curry leaves are one of the ingredients used in curries. The tea is a little pungent but still easy on the taste buds. This taste is something that you can become accustomed to after two to three drinks. Four stalks of leaves should be enough for a small teapot.

Other tips for a great tea recipe is to place a whole lemon in a large flask, add honey, ginger and hot water. This is especially good when you catch a cold or flu, but it's also a good beverage during the any day. The abundance of antioxidants and anti-carcinogenic properties in this mixture is also a bonus for your health. Another great aspect of this mixture is that it is fresh.

Guava leaves are aromatic and can be sued as a recipe. Some people dry the leaves and store it but you can pick the leaves and place it in a hot water jug. You can refill up to 4 rounds of tea after the first pot is finished.

After having tea, you will feel a great sense of satisfaction and wellbeing. If you are not physically feeling great, but at least you will be feeling mentally great knowing that you have contributed towards your health. This is very important in today's society because we eat a lot of junk food and food with preservatives. Therefore we need these teas to help maintain our body's immune system and health.

Curry trees don't need much water to survive and produce healthy leaves for your culinary desires. I hope you can drink 3 to 4 cups of tea per day to help you digest food and for improving your anti-oxidant intake and general wellbeing. However, this does not take away the need for regular exercise and good dietary habits.

A Look At How Saunas Are Healthy

Most people go to Saunas in order to relax after a stressful day or intense exercise. The act of sitting back in a comfortable environment can be a very enlightening one that helps people clear their minds and feel more at ease. Aside from the relaxation element of steam baths, many people claim it provides a variety of health benefits. Although each person's body is different and has its own reaction to steam baths, some people believe it is actually very beneficial to the health of your body.

Some literature states that sitting in a sauna for a little under a half an hour is equivalent to going on a 30 minute power walk. This is because the steam in the sauna deepens your breathing, causing your heart rate to increase as if you were walking quickly or jogging. Due to the physiological affects that sitting in a sauna can have on your body, it is important that you discuss with a doctor before entering a sauna for any substantial amount of time.

As an after affect of the increased heart rate, you will experience increased circulation throughout your entire body. This means that your extremities such as your hands, fingers and toes will have more blood circulated through them than normal. This causes nutrients to rise to the surface of your skin, giving you that healthy post-sauna glow.

A little time in the sauna leaves you with glowing skin because of the skin cleansing act of high circulation and increased perspiration. Your circulation is increase which means blood is reaching parts of the body that receive the least blood flow, and your increased heart rate causes an increase in sweating. Sweating allows your body to cleanse itself of toxins, flushing out all of the impurities.

When you are in a steambath or sauna, your temperature rises significantly to about the same as when you have a mild fever. When you look at it this way it makes sense that spending time in a sauna can leave you feeling healthier and fresher. Fevers are your body's way of forcing out impurities and producing more antibodies.

Spas often offer combination relaxation packages that start with a deep tissue massage and end with half an hour in a sauna. This is because massages will make your fat tissues looser, and sitting in a sauna will help clear out the toxins and impurities that were just loosened. Sitting in a sauna is also a great way to fight a flu when you feel it sneaking up on you, without having to exert yourself by going on a run or hitting the gym.

A steambath is very beneficial for people with respiratory issues. Breathing in humid, wet air can help clear up congestion and make your throat feel better if you are suffering from a severe cough. However, if you are having a severe respiratory issue such as asthma, it is best to go to a doctor.

In addition to all of their health benefits, Saunas are a relaxing way to rest and clear your mind. Healthy skin and easier breathing are just the additional benefits. Make sure you follow standard sauna protocol by not entering if you have any serious health issues. Pregnant women should talk to their doctor before entering a sauna.

A Road Towards Healthy Life

All of us deserve a healthy life. Most of us find it hard to remain healthy and fit. The main problem lies in our diet habits and living style. Either we take improper diet or do inadequate activities to keep fit. Most of us will agree that many times while going to sleep, we swear that we'll go to the gym next morning but that morning never comes. We just change our mind eight hours later saying we don't feel like exercise.

This does not mean that we should leave this idea all together when it comes to staying fit. There is need to realize that staying active and proper eating habits are critical for long term health and fitness. Remember the old saying; one ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We are to introspect ourselves to know how our body respond to our life style, the better we can customize a nutrition and exercise plan that is right for us. When we increase our physical activity, take nutritious diet, and exercise at proper intensity, our body gets the information that we want to burn a substantial amount of calories. This translates to efficient burning of calories for energy.

Nutritious diet habits and physical activities boost metabolism, which in turn gives more energy during the day allowing us to do more physical work with less energy. The main purpose of exercise is to send a repetitive message to the body to improve metabolism, strength and overall good healthy and fit. Every time when we exercise, our body responds by upgrading its capacity to burn calories throughout day and night. It does not mean that we are to do rigorous exercise, but there is requirement of consistency. A balanced approach incorporating aerobic exercise, resistance training and healthy diet plan paves the path towards burning more calories and delivering more oxygen to the body.

5 Reasons To Stay Healthy

I'm just as annoyed as the next guy when I am "forced" to make a healthy choice when the unhealthy option is looking oh so good. Here are 5 things that I remind myself of to help me make better decisions when it comes to my health.

1. It is not enjoyable to be sick. It is appreciated that my friends and family call, come by, make meals for me, etc. But the illness itself is very much uncomfortable. If it involves pain, that's obviously detestable. If it involves a runny nose, that always leads to dry skin on your face, people avoiding you like the plague, or just dirty tissues hanging around the house. Whatever the symptoms are, being sick is annoying, to say the least.

2. My family wants me around for as long as possible and I want to be around as long as possible. I have children and I want to be live for at least a few years after they move out of the house. I love them very much, but the teenage years are horrid. After the turbulent years are over, I would be cheating myself if I wasn't healthy enough to enjoy the time with them when they've (hopefully) turned into responsible people.

3. It costs money to be sick and that's money that could be well-spent on other things. You might have to buy medication, pay a co-pay at a doctor's office, sometimes there are unpaid absences from work, hospital stays. Whatever the case may be, I can deal with it when there's an unavoidable illness. But when I'm sick just because of bad choices on my part, I'm a little ticked off with myself.

4. Life is so much more pleasurable when you're feeling good. When you feel good mentally and physically, you can do more of the things you want to do, from running track to a simple card game with friends. We have more options when we're in good health.

5. Health problems lead to more health problems. I'm annoyed as it is with the health issues I have. I don't want more. When we don't take care of the issues we have now, we end up with more issues.

I'm sure you're not going out to buy a barrel of fruits and vegetables after reading this article. But I hope you will at least consider why you personallly have good reasons to stay healthy!
